What Is Affiliate Marketing

There’s nothing wrong with helping others sell their awesome products… and you getting to benefit from it too.

Simply put, as an affiliate marketer, you show your own customers and website visitors a link to another seller’s product. If your customer buys the product the link is pointing to, you’ll get paid a commission!

This is called “affiliate marketing” (or being a “reseller”).

The cool thing about becoming an affiliate for other people’s products is that you don’t have to take care of tech support, write sales copy, or figure out the mechanics of having the user download the product. Usually, this is all done for you.

In addition, most companies, like Laughingbird Software, give you the sales page graphics you need to advertise, including banners and box shots. This helps you sell their product, so they’re happy to do so.

How to Become an Affiliate Marketer

You just need to show your customers the link to the product or service (this link has your special affiliate ID attached) and let them know you are helping to sell the product. It’s also helpful if you’ve had some experience with that product and can truly recommend it.

This is a great way to supplement your income from the convenience of your own home. And many entrepreneurs are affiliates full-time.

However, depending on your customers and your business, you might also want to make extra graphics for social media marketing, your blog, and even your email campaigns.

Take a look at this WikiHow article and start setting up your own affiliate marketing accounts.

Once you have an account and a product to sell, create a graphic for each social media platform so that you’ll be ready to post as soon as you hit “go”.

Get started today and become a Laughingbird Software affiliate 🙂

How to Create New Marketing Content from Old Articles

If you’re finding it harder than ever to stand out from the competition, you’re not alone. Consumers have endless choices of articles to read, videos to watch, courses to take, and products to buy.

And, as entrepreneurs, you’ll also get a lot of advice on how to stand out in the crowd. You’ve probably heard of “content marketing”, the basic idea being to create consistent content for the people you’re targeting.

Unfortunately, that translates into constantly coming up with new content! Feeling a little overwhelmed?! We totally get it.

So, we’re sharing an idea that’ll help decrease the stress and pressure of giving your customers great content…

WATCH the video and read below to learn more…

…and then make sure to check out the special offer below on the templates you need for content creation.

Create New Content from Old Articles or Blog Posts

You don’t have to constantly invent great content. Get creative and use what you have! Just change up your article or blog content to provide a fresh perspective using these ideas:

  • Turn your video into a blog article (or your blog article into a video)
  • Take an idea or two from old content and build on it to create more detailed content about that topic
  • Change your title and intro to catch the eye of a new group of people
  • Turn an article into a simple “list post”(just number important points and leave out any “fluff”)
  • Turn it into a Powerpoint presentation with awesome visuals
  • Take your free offer (aka: lead magnet) and turn it into a blog article or mini-course (or your article into a free offer)
  • Post clear and relevant article images that show your point, in place of written words

Now you need to decide what content to modify using one of the ideas above.

Content Marketing Strategy: How to Create Content for Your Blog Fast
Share this article and video on Pinterest

Follow This Simple 4-Step Way to Make New Content to Share with Your Audience…

Start by looking through your old content that hasn’t had any traffic in a while. Then decide to do one of 4 things with it:

1. Trash it. If it’s no longer relevant to your business or perhaps so horribly written that you’d have to start over anyway, then get rid of it.

2. Update it to make it current, or make it into a more comprehensive article. Choose to do this by using one of the ideas mentioned above.

3. Add one or two new ideas, give it a new title, and update links. Make sure the content is still very relevant to your niche and helpful to your audience.

4. Create brand new, relevant images for a whole new look (perhaps even make images the focal point of your new content).

Start Every Article with a Featured Graphic (like the ones below)

Examples of a “Featured Graphic” designed using Laughingbird Software’s “The Graphics Creator”

Featured graphics, such as the four examples above, are needed to grab attention to your article. Additionally, add titles with keywords and a relevant image that pertains to your article’s content. Not only will it help your audience understand your topic, but you’ll also be helping Google and other search engines find and list you.

Creating New Marketing Content Is Easy

Now make one or two new pieces of content that speak to your customers. Don’t forget to consider which content worked well the first time around. Or whether your target customer has changed since that old content was shared.

No matter what you decide to do with your old content, don’t forget to include eye-catching blog graphics.

And make sure you watch the video to find out exactly how to create designs for your new content.

Think about it… just updating a couple of articles will give you new content to give your audience in far less time than starting a new topic.

Increase Engagement with Characters on your Business Cards

Stand-out from the crowd with a business card featuring a mascot or cartoon character.

Business cards don’t have to be boring. You can get attention and stand out from the crowd… without doing something drastic!

With a character on it, the card will be easily noticed and recognized as your business, making it stand out from the rest!

Just add one of the 300+ characters in the downloadable Mascot Characters template set (Premium Content) to your business card (or create a logo using a character and put that on your business card).

Watch the video to see some of the characters included in this graphics set:

Here’s a couple of other business card tips to help increase engagement:

When giving out your card, hand-write something on one copy, such as your cell-phone number, a secondary e-mail address, or cute message. Or even offer them a special discount.

These tactics will give your card a noticeable edge (and make others take a second look before tossing it)!

Give your audience a reason to come to your website or social media. And tell them exactly what you want them to do. Use a Call-to-Action such as “Use this discount code in the shopping cart at https://stagingapril.laughingbirdsoftware.com”.

And, be sure to give a couple of “clean” cards to each contact as well, asking your new friend to pass one on to another potential customer.

Focus On Video Storytelling to Gain More Customers

Why Do I Need to Tell a Story With Video?

Did you know the human attention span has dwindled to 8 seconds (from 12 seconds back in the year 2000)?

… which is less than the attention span of a puppy! ?

Therefore, you need to do whatever you can to grab the attention of your viewer within the first 8 seconds (or less) of your video.

People love stories (how many times have you sat around with a group of friends telling stories when you could’ve been doing any number of other things… right?)

Storytelling has turned into a new and powerful ‘sales pitch’ that’s getting real results. And video is helping us tell better stories.

When you’re indulging in video marketing, the rules remain the same. You need to give immense value and make sure your video content is filling a need. Storytelling helps you do that. It lets you connect with your target audience.

Use an Explainer Video to Tell Your Story

Here’s a fantastic article showing how to create your own ‘explainer video’ using elements of a story. This article actually helped inspire this Creatorpreneurs Quick-Win.

Now that you’ve read the article, create a video focusing on telling a story that showcases your business in a positive light and lets your brand’s personality shine. Take a look at the video to see how easy it is to do with Powtoons (one of the video creation products we use ourselves).

Create and Share Premium Marketing Content

In order to build trust with your audience, you have to demonstrate authority and credibility by providing value.

What better way to provide value than giving your prospective customers a glimpse of the value they’ll get by purchasing your product or service?

How to Share Free Content

Free content positions you as an expert and authority on the topic – As people see you creating free YouTube videos packed with helpful information, or e-books overflowing with awesome advice, or podcasts filled with valuable interviews, they start to see you as the expert on the subject. The more value you give, the higher your authority status.

The more content you create on a consistent basis, the bigger your fan-base will grow. And the more consumers will share your work with others in their network, affirming your status as an authority. This is an effective form of word-of-mouth marketing.

Think of free content as a test drive — no one is going to buy a car without driving it first.

Plus, free content is consumed 50 times more often than content that sits behind a paywall. It also creates more exposure and earns new customers.

Types of Premium Marketing Content You Should Give Away

Deciding which content you should distribute for free needs to be a strategic decision.

You need to be thinking three steps ahead. You’re looking to create leverage that allows you to eventually do something for profit, so figure out what kind of content will get you what you want, and who needs to see it.

Some examples of free content:

  • Skype consultations,
  • downloadable ebooks and other info-products,
  • videos,
  • training material,
  • YouTube videos
  • podcasts.

Easy Content Strategy

Here’s what you need to do: Take a look at your product/service offers. Think of 3 types of free content you can create that’ll really help your prospects solve a problem and establish you as an authority.

Now, create the content that’ll be most helpful for your customer (but that is fairly easy to create, if possible). Don’t forget to create beautiful headers, footers, thumbnails, etc., so that it looks professional and is exciting to consume.

Finally, set a date that you’ll send out your free content to your prospects.

Final notes: Make sure your freebie is easy to consume and share.

AND, make sure your content is presented in a format that can be accessed on both desktop and mobile devices.

Make Short Videos for Social Media to Get Better Engagement

Want more engagement from your videos on social media?

Creatorpreneurs, create a short video that’ll help you attract the right kind of attention, spread brand awareness, and improve your organic reach.

Why You Should Create Short Videos for Social Media

Short videos are popular because they work. According to research done by Hubspot, the recommended length for a video on various social media platforms are:

  • Instagram videos: 26 seconds
  • Twitter videos: 45 seconds
  • Facebook videos: 1 minute
  • YouTube videos: 2 minutes

While there are a number of reasons why short videos are popular, one of the most obvious ones is the fact that they give out helpful information in small “bites”.

They don’t take up much of your time and can deliver on their promise right away.

After all, successful social media content should be instantly gratifying or you’ll risk losing your audience.

Why Social Media Users Will Watch a Short Video:

  1. To consume content without wasting much time
  2. To keep track of the latest happenings around them
  3. To be informed on trending topics of their interest
  4. And to get entertained!

Create a Short Animated Explainer Video

Today, create a short, 30-second video that shows viewers that you understand their problem or frustration and that you have the best solution.

Take a look at our 2-minute YouTube explainer video.

We created this video with Powtoons, one of our own favorite tools for many years.

Make More Money: Find Out What Your Audience Wants

Finding out what your audience wants is easy. Just ask them!

How to Find Out What Your Audience Wants and Needs

First, do you have an email provider that makes it easy to automate a follow-up email sequence? We use Drip.com, so you can check them out if you’re not sure you have what you need.*

Set up your email campaign so that the minute someone subscribes to your newsletter, blog, or free offer, your email provider automatically delivers a thank-you note to their inbox.

In this thank-you note, ask your subscriber what type of content they want.

If you’re a fashion eCommerce store, you can ask something like:

‘What celebrity styles inspire you?”

If you’re an online coach, ask your audience what their number one struggle is.

Maybe you’re an internet marketer who sells online products…
ask them what your next product should be!

How to Make More Money With This Simple Tip

Knowing what your shoppers are interested in the most will help you provide more value (and give them exactly what they want!), thus increasing your sales.

AND… always provide a branded header on your thank-you email.

Watch the video to see how Laughingbird Software’s online Graphics Creator will help you get this done.

Create a custom header in The Graphics Creator and save it for future revisions (there’s never an additional charge for modifications)!

So, sit back and think of a question to ask your audience in the next ‘thank you’ letter you send to them.

How to Stand Out with Motion Graphics Backgrounds

Add Motion Graphics Backgrounds to Your Image

Here are two helpful ideas:

1. Use motion graphics for event invites and social media posts.

Show the mood, style, and information about your upcoming event or offer with a short animation that can be linked to emails or posted on social media.

2. Stand Out in Social Media

Stand out in the sea of posts, tweets, snaps, and messages. Having custom motion graphics can get you a better return on investment (ROI) for your marketing efforts than almost anything else out there.

Choose one of the above ideas and do this:

Create a motion graphic background with The Graphics Creator.

Start with a Motion Graphics template or import your own short video into any templates. The motion graphics are quick to load on social media, can loop indefinitely, and are easy to make.

Watch the video above and create one step-by-step.

Want another way to use motion graphics?

Short video clips (10 seconds or so) are also a great option to use with music or audio.  Post an animation on your various social media pages today.

Social Media Analytics: How to Use Them to Grow Your Business

Want to find out how your social media channels are doing?

Here’s a super-duper, FREE tool that’ll give you the information you need to grow your biz… with the help of other successful businesses. It’s been especially helpful for our YouTube channel! However, you can use it for other social channels as well.

It’s called Socialblade.com.

SocialBlade.com is a free-to-use website that displays your YouTube statistics – or the stats of any social channel you’re interested in – using a simple layout.

Check your own stats by typing your own channel name into the search bar.

If you want to use Social Blade to monitor somebody else’s stats, type their channel name instead.

Research Your Competitors Social Media Analytics

By looking up your direct competitors (channels about the same size as yours within your same niche) you’ll be able to see what content is performing best for them.

So, if you’re researching YouTube, you’ll find out which videos get them the most interaction. You can then look at what type of video, content, title, and thumbnail graphic they’re using on their top videos.

Pay particular attention to the thumbnail graphic of successful videos. This image is the first thing to catch the attention of your audience when they’re scanning YouTube’s video content.

Create YouTube Channel Graphics to Improve Your Analytics

So, make a bright, colorful thumbnail for each YouTube video or get some ideas from the top videos in your niche. And, try putting new thumbnail images on old videos that are missing a stunning graphic.

Knowing what is working for your rivals will help you design your own YouTube graphics and content strategy.

You can also use Social Blade to look up YouTube influencers (super successful YouTubers), to see how much money they’re actually making. Take their estimated revenue with a grain of salt, though – it’s just an estimate.

That’s how you can use Social Blade for YouTube – try it now!

How to Make a Top 10 List to Increase Your Traffic

What is a Top 10 List?

People go nuts over top 10 lists… top 10 tools, top 10 blogs, top 10 places to go… you name it. Just list the 10 most important things related to your niche topic. Then use this information in a list format to educate or entertain your readers.

You’ll get more traffic, more clicks, and more engagement by creating your own TOP 10 blog, article, or video.

It’s super easy to do and viewers will pass it around because the content is sooooo easy to read (just scan it!) and share. You can even break down a complicated topic into small chunks, making the article more likely to get read.

How to Create a Top 10 List

First, decide what others need you to share in your niche. Then decide on a headline for your list article.

Some examples of good top 10 list headlines include:
10 Ways to Eat a Pineapple, 10 Design Tools You Need in 2020, or 10 Super Smoothies That’ll Give You More Energy

Keep your list informative but fairly simple. The best thing about list articles is that they are great content because they involve quick, “bite-sized” content. So, don’t ruin your article (or video) by adding unnecessary words.

Write Your Own Top 10 List

So, here’s what you can do today:  Right after you watch the video, create a product comparison guide. After all, your potential customer has SO many products to choose from.

Help them find your product or service in a list of 10 services that are compatible with yours. You don’t need to use direct competitors, but do include resources that your own audience might need.

If you do decide to compare your biz with competitors, be objective and fair, but make sure there is:

1. a noticeable advantage in buying from you,

2. or make it clear that what you offer is a better fit for a specific audience (perhaps your money management program is geared towards young adults as opposed to retirees).

For example, if you walk or train dogs… you can create a Top 10 list of the products needed for training (and then make sure you insert one of your own training products into the list).

Or – you can name the Top 10 websites that your customers may need that enhance your own services (and of course, add your own website onto the list).

Make a Graphic for your Blog, Article, or Video

To entice viewers to read your article, make sure it catches their eye by creating a stunning page header with The Graphics Creator (watch the video above to see how easy it is).

Chances are good that customers will share your Top 10 list.  And, since you’ve snuck in your own product or service as one of the list-items, your product or service is actually getting passed around the great, wide internet!

It’s a creative and valuable way to gain some traffic.
