1. New Software Notice alert!

    The new Web Graphics Creator (version 4.0) will be out soon.

    For now, version 3.0 is still active and works great on most Windows machines. It no longer runs on Macs using Lion or greater... (but the new version will fix this)

    So hang in there! It's almost done!

    I get an error code that says 'Director Player Error' in the title bar of the error pop-up and follows with:

    Object expected

    Script Error. Continue?

    Yes No

    I have to uninstall and reinstall the program to get it working again. After that sometimes an error comes up with a text that says something about 'unregistered version' (sorry I didn't write this one down exactly).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    I just reinstalled again and the message 'unregistered version of cxtra' happens when I try to select the single image upload. To clarify the last post, the 'Director Player Error' also came up with the single image upload command.

    I reinstalled again, this time without putting in the key registration code for Art Center. It worked for a while until the same 'Director Player Error' in the title bar of the error pop-up etc. came up. But registration of the key did recreate the error immediately.

    Hi artharpster...

    Where did you install your copy of WGC?
    Sounds like you're not getting the full installation.

    The cXtra can only 'register' a certain way.
    It must reside into a specific folder.

    Did you install the WGC into an older version of The eCover Creator?

    Hi Marc,

    I installed the program into the programs folder (C:\Program Files\Web Graphics Creator) from the desktop where I downoaded the program to.

    I do not have The eCover Creator, but if you recall, there was no link for me to download after purchasing from Digital River and you provided me with a link in a PM you sent me. Perhaps the link you connected me with wasn't to the newest version? Just a thought.

    Marc, Same error all of a sudden

    I'm getting the same error

    see http://www.ryankrause.com/flipbookerror.pdf

    Also, the preview option is not working. It works once, then i have to exit the program and re-enter. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't.

    Hi Marc,

    I do not get the same errors at first. That was good. The Flipbook was able to upload images.

    However, when I tried to get it to work on a web page, it didn't come up.

    I placed the code as shown below on the web page and placed the config file, book images file and flash 'MyFlipmbook' object together with the HMTL page the code was placed on.

    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="300" height="225">

    <param name="flashVars" value="xmlConfig=config.xml">
    <param name="scale" value="noscale">
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF">
    <param name="wmode" value="transparent">

    </object>

    </pages>
    </FlippingBook>

    Images were there in the folder when I clicked on it.

    Nothing happened when I clicked on the flash object. Shouldn't it have gone into play?

    Then, the message came back, "Director Play Object Expected Script Error. Continue?"

    Something needs adjustment.

    Just a quick add-on: when I try to add an .swf file, I get the same error messages.

    You and I have exactly the same issue. I checked google for the error about the unregistered comment. It says something about a microsoft update that prohibits binary code. I followed the directions and now i don't get that error anymore, just the usual one about the director script error. how frustrating...

    Have you noticed how lightening quick the software is when you click different modules? I love that!!! If all programs went that quick I'd be in heaven :)

    Can you point me in the direction of the fix for the 'unregistered cxtra' error please? I added the key in the art center and all the errors have returned (including the director script).

    Hmm, my problems are only in mozilla/firefox. But I'm running IE 7 as my secondary browser.

    Okay, this is now sounding like a Flash plug in problem rather than an actual software or browser problem.

    Either way, this shouldn't be happening.

    The Flip book I have created on the home page: http://www.webgraphicscreator.com contains all Jpeg images ... and, at the end, a .swf animation.

    So - for me - the software works.
    Why it doesn't work for some of you is baffling me. I'm checking on it as we speak.

    Can everybody reading this post point me to the broken images you're speaking about? Also, post your platform (Windows/ Mac )

    If only my flipbook worked like that one :) Sometimes the images would be on one page, but rarely side by side. I'm running Win/ Mozilla and i have had flash plug-in difficulties in the past. With both Mozilla/ Firefox 2 and IE 7.

    I used JPEG images and numbered them in a folder on the desktop. I also had adjusted the image size so that they were similar. I found that they line up side by side this way. The preview portion works fine.

    However, when I put the files and code in the appropriate places on my web page and folders, it shows nothing.

    As a footnote, if anyone was experiencing 'director error' or 'cxtra errors', mine got fixed inadvertantly. I had another software problem and the tech said that the "dao.exe" file had been messed with by another program install. I installed that and everything works so far (the errors are corrected, but the program still doesn't work on the web page).
