1. New Software Notice alert!

    The new Web Graphics Creator (version 4.0) will be out soon.

    For now, version 3.0 is still active and works great on most Windows machines. It no longer runs on Macs using Lion or greater... (but the new version will fix this)

    So hang in there! It's almost done!

My Flip Book problems solved!

    I was getting my files ready for Ryan (homesight) because he so generously volunteered to check my files to upload.

    Since I was putting in the effort anyway, I tried to get it to work one last time. I got my images ready by decreasing their size to 72 dpi. I created a Flip Book in WGC. I pasted the code into my web page and loaded the files into my web folder that contained my page.

    So I copied the code onto the page, BUT by mistake, didn't copy the < in front of the object code. So it was pasted in as "object>". When I previewed the page, I saw my book! However, there was code written around the Flip Book. I went in and saw the missing '<' and corrected it. Went back to preview my page and nothing was there again. So I took out all the code that was written around the page and the Flip Book remained and working. I checked it with IE, Nescape, Opera and Firefox. All OK.

    Here is the code I have left on the page:

    <object>
    <param name="movie" value="MyFlipBook.swf">
    <param name="quality" value="high">
    <param name="flashVars" value="xmlConfig=config.xml">
    <param name="scale" value="noscale">
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF">
    <param name="wmode" value="transparent">
    <embed src="MyFlipBook.swf" wmode="transparent" width="400" height="200" quality="high" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" flashvars="xmlConfig=config.xml" scale="noscale" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed>
    </object>

    Hey Marc, if this works for everyone, can I get a promotion from a junior member to like a senior or something?

    Try it again with another publish set

    Try it out again with another publish set and see if it works. I'm curious as I seem to have found a possible reason for my success.

    Ryan, I followed my steps as outlined in the previous post and reposted the images and code and voila! There it is again. I know that this program has been tempermental in the past, so it was a good suggestion to retry. I will try tomorrow again just to be doubly sure.

    I don't have my page on the web, just building my site so I can't send a link.

    I was able to post the Flip Book again to a web page and it worked. As I said before, the program is tempermental. Today, I got another 'Director Player Error', but I was able to load the images via "import a folder of images" option.

    The good news is I now have the booklet on the web page working, but the program needs help to get it up to speed without the obvious idiosyncrosies.
