I am a very new User to TLC having only spent a few days with it. I have 'designed' a couple of logo's but not being exactly creative I could do with a few more ideas.

I need to promote a 'professional' appearence and so have steered clear of wild fonts and cartoon graphics.

As there is obviously such a rich TLC talent out there any alternative ideas would be much appreciated.

    Regards
    Iain

Iain, you might want to import an image of a computer into your logo graphics.

Beautiful ideas. I love the double-text trick.

Thought that you might like to see the end results of a few more hours experimenting. A couple of family members had commented that the blue Orb came out too strong (when printing the logo in a word document) and detracted from the IDS. I tried reducing the Opacity and although better, was still too prominent.

I had played around with a small rectanguler logo for the bottom of the Letterhead and this included a yellow Orb. Using this Orb in the main logo, to complement, didn't look right until I gave it a purple blur underneath. This now blends in with the lettering.

I did try alternative colour Swooshes but still came back to this one.

Bringing the Orb down onto the top of the I has really worked well, making it appear more as a lower case i and allowing the bottom Swoosh to come lower on the lettering. This now brings the different elements much more together.

    Regards
    Iain

    Iain,

I really like this last one .... Something about the darker blue first letters doesn't work for me but the rest of it is super!! ... I can't put my finger on what it is about those blue first letters.

That said .... You have a good eye for this!

Your 3D letters show yet another powerful way that TLC can be used.

    Keep on posting your logos!

    Final version ..............

I have now taken the upper Swoosh behind the Orb and the blurred edge circle. This makes the orb look as if it's orbiting the logo and at the same time enhances the effect of the lower case i even more.

I am now using this in my Outlook Express signature file in addition to my other applications.

Thanks to TLC, to Marc and to everyone who gave feedback.

    Regards
    Iain

Ian, I love your logo's final version and I think it's a great idea to see the progression and the thinking behind the changes that you made.

    Very well done!

Hi Leighm, glad you like the logo.

The Font is standard Arial Black but the 3D Effect is gained from the information in one of Marc's excellent tutorials. Go to the main site, select Tutorials and 'Creating unique text effects'.

Well worth a good look believe me (thanks Marc !)

Iain....your final version with yellow globe dotting "i" and breaking the swoosh is excellent. You might try using a different font for the "Computer Services" tagline though. Possibly something more bold and all caps, like the "Capitals" font in TLC. It will give even more professional look. :6:
