I have a way to make a cut out with an insided shadow.

I made a rectangle with the color I wanted and put a white element on top of the rectangle (in this case a spider). Then exported it (PNG format seemed to work best). Then I imported the image and did the "remove white". That left me with a cut out that I was able to shadow. Check out the results.

That looks great! You certainly are making the most of the capabilities of the program. My guess is you're very detail oriented in other things as well (wish I were :) ) and that you're by nature a perfectionist.

I'm going to give it a try. BTW, your badges are unbelievable.

I tried it and understand the concept. Here's my very rudimentary attempt. Obviously I'm going to need a lot of practice.

    You've got it!

I've discovered that black is not the best choice because it seems that there are residue pixals on the edge of the image. I have had better success using a color and then use the blur feature to soften the image a small amount.
