    Hi,
I have tried to create my own logo but the (street or road) icon I am using came out blurry. I blurred the shadow to try and compensate but as you can see it did not work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. http://www.pitroadmotorsports.com

    Thanks,
    Bill

How about a substitution for that swoosh? If you need a larger png file than I can attach here send me a PM (private message) with your email address and I will send it to you by email.

Thanks for the quick replies. Thank you KD but I like the way the "swoosh" curves around. Homesite I can't figure out how to get lines on there

I like that swoosh too but the problem is it seems to be fine if it is just drug onto the canvas but falls apart as it gets enlarged. You could try exporting it at its original size colored as desired and then import the exported .png and resizing that.

What program are you using to create that road?

Basically, if you are using an image program that is for photographic manipulation, you will end up with 'bitmapped' images, which can be enlarged to a certain extent, if the program supports 'bi-polar' with respect to enlarging.

A better way and much easier, is to use a 'vector' based drawing package, many image programs support this now. That road could be drawn by using just 2 straight lines and pulling out a few points. It is much easier to use than trying to do the same thing with a bitmap image. You could even trace your current image with vectors, which would be very sharp.

    Just a few pointers...:image28:

Here's a quick 'vector' based version of your road. All I've done is taken your bitmap image and used a trace and gradient fill, for the road.

BTW, I used Adobe Flash CS3 to do this, which really under-estimates the abilities of flash technology. hehe..

I would have edited my other post, but the edit option isn't available on this forum.

I just noticed in your request that you asked about lines on the road. I guess you're referring to having a 'white' line in the middle of the road, obviously becoming thinner and more frequent when reaching the horizon. Again, this is not difficult to achieve.

Let us know, if you still want these and I'll add them.

Syrus, the Edit feature is available, but time limited. Makes sense if you think about it. If we didn't restrict the time and several comments were made to a post and then that post edited, it may or may not make sense.

    Thanks for the help!

    Syrus,

Your myspace page is exactly what i'm looking to achieve here shortly with my page. Hit me up on PM, I'd love to learn how you made that possible...so it's not just another boring myspace layout.

    Thanks,
    Ryan.

    Hi Randy,

I can see your point. I run my own forums, but I don't have any time restrictions on editing posts - I've never had problems with people editing posts after comments had been posted.

I suppose everyone to their own, but IMHO it just creates extra posts and MySQL queries to read a single thread..

    Sorry for going off topic..
