:helpnow: OK, I can't get it to work.
I scanned a graphic into my computer as a jpeg.
I opened TLC and imported the graphic.
I clicked modify and then remove white background.
    Nothing happens.
I save it as a transp gif and then re-imported it, but I still can't get rid of the background.
    What's wrong.

Most likely your background is not a pure white, or at least not what TLC recognizes as white. Try importing your image into a paint program and painting the background white from there. Then re-import it to TLC and try again.

    Hope this helps :D

OR, import it into PSP (Paint Shop Pro). Choose the export option, from there export as gif, choose the colour you want as transparent. complete the export, import into TLC... Easy.

Yup, that's even better! Thanks theghoul! Making the color of your background transparent will eliminate all chance of getting those nasty left over edges.

Depending on what you are doing you.. can enlarge the background that you want so that the white background is outside the canvas edges if you aren't familiar with image editing.

    Only glad to help.

Whilst TLC is handy at removing a background it does tend to leave *#@!*#@!*#@!*#@!y speckles behind.

    Thanks all,
I got this to work once, and then the next time. . . nothing.
I needed a logo to go into a Word Perfect document without leaving that annoying white rectangle. I got it and then put it into print shop and was able to do my thing.
