1. New Software Notice alert!

The new Web Graphics Creator (version 4.0) will be out soon.

For now, version 3.0 is still active and works great on most Windows machines. It no longer runs on Macs using Lion or greater... (but the new version will fix this)

So hang in there! It's almost done!

After opening the eCover Creator and then right clicking on the cover to import new image, I keep getting a message that an error was made and unable to import the image, I have tried tlc, jpeg, bmp, what type of image do I save to get it into the ecover creator?

Then how can I save the image where it is not flash and without spinning?
    :image03:
I would like to be able to copy the image into jpeg format and upload it into my landing page software which is designed not to accept html code from the end user, just cut and paste...is this possible or will the software only produce code for me?

JimL I have moved your post here to the proper topic area so that your question can be addressed as soon as possible. Just to be sure I am understanding correctly you are using the old ecover creator or the Web Graphics Creator that has the ecover built into it?

Hi Jim, Welcome to the forum. After you "save" the file, are you using the "export" function? It must be exported as a .jpg, .png or whatever format you want to use, before you can import it as a cover.

While doing a search for ebook cover creators I came across this site.

Being a true newbie, I need something that a beginner can handle but after reading a few comments I am not sure if I would be able to figure out how to use this program.

Is there a simple, but fairly comprehensive manual to walk me through it if I order? Also, is eCover Creator the same program that comes with WebGraphics Creator or are they two separate programs?

    Thanks

Actually there once was a previous e cover standalone program written by Laughingbird Software after a total rewrite of the program with expanded features that weren't compatible with the older version WGC came into existance. WGC has both TLC ( Called the Art Center) and the expanded ecover program.

Take a look at the tutorials .

I saw there were other posts from people who bought this product claiming these tutorials were not very good and they had problems figuring out what to do.

The price is right but I am concerned I would end up in the same position of not knowing how to use the software.

    Hi Mike,

While everyone has their own opinions on the tutorials, in their current state of print media, only. We are looking to make some nice advancements here in the near future... The bottom line, and one thing everyone on this forum can agree with ---> there is almost always someone online or quick to respond to any issues you come across.

It is very rare for a mod, or another member to not reply to your post within a day, in most cases...

Hopefully this provides a bit more insight for you.

    Any questions, let us know!!!

Mike I would not count on it being any problem for you.. You will have it figured out within 2 days of sitting and toying with it a bit if not even sooner.. I was in the same boat as you when I first got the program and making ebook covers are one of the easier design task these days. Its the bottom line the easiest ecover or software box maker I have ever fooled with and I have owned a couple in the past that feel ashamed to say I paid for.. I do not get any commissions nor do I get paid here. I am just a volunteer moderator of the forum so I bring this testimonial to you in all sincerity. I dont think you will have any problems.. We have had people in the past who will open it up and only give it a 15 minute look over. I will be honest with you and say I do not understand how some are having some of the problems that are mentioned by some others.. I can only make assumptions. However, one product is not for everyone or else it would be the best selling product in the world.. So no matter where you look on any product you are going to find people who have something negative to say other than the fact is its the best piece of software of its kind that they have ever owned. In my book it really takes the cake on anything I have experienced in the past when looking to achieve my particular design goals.

If you feel that you have made the wrong decision after purchasing then I would just about guarantee that you wont find anything else anywhere else that delivers the same punch and quality. The best part is that its easy to toy with and learn how to use.. A manual really isn't needed but there is unlimited help offered here to you and numerous different areas of the forum and websites as you can see we are helping you now. Well give you that same help if you ever experience any problems with your software.. I hope this helps you make an informative decision on whats best for you.

Thanks for the replies. I just saw eBookCover Generator by Armand Morin that seems pretty easy to use.

It's a bit expensive at $97 but if it is simple for a newbie like me maybe it would be worth getting.

Has anyone compared both products and if so, would they recommend I probably should get eBookCover Generator instead?

    Thanks for your help

I have never used eBookCover Generator so I would not know about offering any advise there.. I think the price tag is what scares me away there.. I am able to make any type of ecover I like with excellent quality as it is so I never had any reason to look into it... I hope what ever you choose works out the best for you... Just make sure you are going to get good support for eBookCover Generator if you do get it.. I think I would like a bit of a helping hand and guidance if I was to pay 97 dollars.. Good luck in advance..

a wee bit proud of it....

Mike I have looked at the other program you mentioned for $97.. my opinion is they a more than a wee bit proud of it... the price is almost 3x that of web graphic creator and has far less features.

I am not slamming the the other company in any way.. and I am not a part of this company.. take a look at the core business of the two...one is a software developer and the other is an online marketer selling how to ebooks and related services. Which one do you think is more dedicated to provide a better software product?
