1. New Software Notice alert!

The new Web Graphics Creator (version 4.0) will be out soon.

For now, version 3.0 is still active and works great on most Windows machines. It no longer runs on Macs using Lion or greater... (but the new version will fix this)

So hang in there! It's almost done!

I'm Having Runtime Error Issues!

    Hello,

Is there anyone but me out there getting random runtime errors in the Web Graphics Creator?

I'm trying to figure out if this has something to do with a corrupt file in my computer, or if this is something to do with the software.

The runtime error occurs at anytime when I'm either selecting fonts to add to a logo I'm creating, or at times I only try to open an existing logo in my file and I get the runtime error then as well.

If anyone has an answer to why this is happening, I would really appreciate it. At this time instead of being able to open and edit an existing logo I created, I have to create a new logo from scratch, and cross my fingers that it doesn't fault.

Good day Webpub! Can you please tell me the runtime error you are receiving? Does it have a code, or description? How long have you owned the WGC? What version?

    Thanks,
    Ryan.

WebPub, look and see if all the fonts that you have been trying to use are in the Windows font folder and not in a subfolder under fonts.

    Thanks for responding so quickly.

    This is the exact message:

    Runtime Error!

    Program:...gram Files\Web Graphics Creator\Web Graphics Creator.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Version 3.0 and I have had the progam over 6 months now.

The fonts I'm using are in the Windows folder, and no other.

The only thing I did notice, is when I created sub-folders for my logos, some, but not all of the logos were getting the runtime error. This I found odd, because you think it would happen to all of them, but I guess not.

After I removed the logo I was having issues with, and placed it back in it's original folder, the runtime error stopped happening.

Below I added a screen capture of the message I get each time.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Bill

PS I already spoke several weeks ago with Marc, and he gave me a link to re-upload the current version, but after I did that, the problem continued.

    Webpub,

Out of shear curiosity, do you have spaces in your file names and your logo names? I've had trouble in the past with the spaces in a folder name, with the directory being a sub... Let me know...

    Good catch Ryan.
    This might be a cause.

Also, WebPub, you mention that you have subfolders.
If the 'path name' (the location of your saved file) is too long, the WGC might have trouble reading in the full name of the file.

For example, if you created 3 or 4 directories (folders to us Mac folks) and the names of these folders are too long:

MyFolder/myOTHERfolder/MyLastFolderisHERE/file.tlc -- this might cause a problem as there are too many characters in the 'path name'.

Try saving your .TLC file directly to the desktop, and then open it from there. See if you get this same error.

    Hello,

Thank you all for your help. I think with your solutions I believe everything is ok! I decreased the file path, and I have not received any runtime errors since. Knock on Wood!

Also I'm not having anymore issues with the fonts, so I believe it was the path issue.

Thanks again, and have a great day!

    Hi Theresa.

You've been using the software for quite sometime!
I wonder what's changed to suddenly aggravate The WGC?

Do you have new antivirus software running in the background?

Good you got it worked out! I was hoping I did not have to recommend my preferred and free anti virus program.. I had problems with 360 in past myself.. Switched to Avast and was very impressed.
