functions not working

    I am trying to use the text tools to create a blended coloring.
    When I use the gradient tool, it won't change to the color I have selected but will only remain on the original color selected by the program (blue green text).
    I can change the color in the solid color choices but when going to gradient tool, it reverts back to the blue/green coloration?

    ... which software program are you using, and what version?

    and, are you using Vista, XP or Mac?
