1. New Software Notice alert!

The new Web Graphics Creator (version 4.0) will be out soon.

For now, version 3.0 is still active and works great on most Windows machines. It no longer runs on Macs using Lion or greater... (but the new version will fix this)

So hang in there! It's almost done!

Frustrated Already

    Hi,

    Just bought the software.

Can somebody please tell me where
to get the manual for WGC?

I've been to every link and all I can find
is a weak video, which is hard to watch and use the
    software at the same time.

    Thanks,
    Blazed8

    Hi,

So can I assume with 29 views and no response
    that there is no manual?

    This thing sucks

I haven't been able to find a manuel either. The software isn't intuitive, and the button generator is stupid.
I guess I'll try and get my money back!

    Hi Matta,

I played around in the art area and made a great looking
piece that I thought I could use as a book cover.

But there was no way I could figure out how that tool worked.

I spent all day yesterday working on it.

I think if I knew how it worked I could do some nice things
    with it.

I have also sent an email, no response.

I called the company number, the mail box
was full, proably others looking for the manual.

I have posted here, no response and the
mods that work this board are here I see them
posting, maybe they just don't want to say
    "THERE IS NO MANUAL!"

By the way there was no guarantee stated on the web site.

there are some tutorials on the website, which illustrate step by step how you can use the images you create as a texture on the 3-D models.
    this for example:
    <http://www.webgraphicscreator.com/Cool_eCovers.html>

maybe this helps you getting started.
otherwise try to specify, what exactly doesn't work or where you have problems, so it is easier to answer.

you certainly get more helpful answers, if you try to ask more specific.

I am sorry I thought I was specific.

Is there a manual for WGC or not?
    Thanks,

    a¿ex,

    Here is my second question.

If I want to make a 3D cover do I first
make the cove image in the art center?

    Third question,
If so after I make it what size to I make it?

    Foruth question,
What all do I have to do to it before I save it?

    Fifth question,
    How to I save it?
As one of the program files or as another file type?

This can go on forever and your advice is to look around in the
    forum and read posts.

So what your telling me is to ask and read what
others have to say about something they don't
    know a lot about.

Reminds of a cliche "The blind leading the blind"

    I have work to do.

I bought this on Sunday it's now Tuesday
and I've got nothing except a bill and a lot of wasted time.

I don't think, that yelling at me is the right way to get any further help from me.
Either you mind your manners on a public forum with people, who help and share their knowledge in their sparetime, just to help the community, or you will have to try to communicate your problems with people who get paid for doing support.

This is a user forum, you may read up on other places how to successfully get help and useful advice on public forii.

    a¿ex,

    Now I am totally confused.

First of all how was I yelling?
I looked at my last post and didn't see one
    ! mark.

" " these are quotes used when
restateing what someone else has said.

In that case I was quoting a very well known
    cliche in the US.

I see you are from Germany
so if quotes represent yelling in Germany
you can settle down this company has a US
address and I am sure they get it.

Your logo says Laughing Bird programmer
so I am making the assumtion you work for the company.

If so I repeat Is there a manual for WGC?

Lastly do you understand the frustration of
buying a product and not getting a manual
    on how it works?

Not getting a response from support emails.
Not getting response to a simple question on this
forum, which they tell you to use.

And not being able to talk to anyone via phone because
the phone voice mail is full.

Blazed8,a¿ex is a very talented programmer that has been used by Marc for product development for animation. Just like myself and all admin ( except for laughingbird himself) and mods we do NOT work for Laughingbird and our time here in the forum is totally voluntary. While we all can understand your frustration/s there really isn't a reason to lash out at a¿ex for trying to help you. WCG is a brand new product and most of us are also in the learning curve and there is no manual yet, in most cases Laughingbird products are easy enough to use that users don't need a manual or can get answers here in the forum. It does help for us to know which version (PC or Mac) you need your answers for.

Most do start with the Art Center and then choose which module they want to work in from there. The software will work with the basic canvas size so there is no reason to be concerned about sizing it correctly. Are you wanting information on "saving" or "exporting" ? Saving is for having an editable .tlc file and exporting is for used for a file to put on your website application.

    KD-did,

The problem with emails and forums is there is
    no tone.

Thank you for coming to this post to tell me
    there is no manual.

    The frustration is over.

Now if you would be so kind, could you
please tell me what email address I send my
    refund request to?

Or should I just let my credit card company deal with it?

    Thank you,
    Blazed8

There does seem to be several problems where emails done through the Digital River ecommerce portion are not reaching Marc....If you simply go to the "Members List" and the letter L and locate the user name laughingbird and click on it, you see where to send a PM. Give him your puchase information your order confirmation number, name and email address he will then put the request into Digital River or paypal. The process time may take several days but it will get done.

It would be really nice if you would give him the reasons for your frustrations.

    Blazed8,
I am sorry you are having problems.
It's only been less than two days and KD and Alex have done a pretty good job giving some sort of help or guidence.
Some things take a while to get a responce depending on the subject. A Manuel will be made, but for now, any specific questions is best looked for in here.

    Good luck!

    Blazed.

I've recieved your PM and have read this post.
Everybody in here (expecially a¿ex) has been very helpful.

I'm sorry to hear you're a bit snippy with everybody.

I understand you may be a bit frustrated. And I'm sorry if so.
There are many tutorials on the website that may help with your questions:
http://www.webgraphicscreator.com/tutorials.html (how to export, how to create an eCover, how to 'map' your jpegs onto a 3D eBook...)

In any case, I have issued a refund with my eCommerce provider Digital River. They'll look up your order and put the refund through. This should be finalized within 24 hours.

    :SayingHi:
Hi everyone, I don't post much because I spend most of my time reading and going back to my WGC to carry on playing with it. Having read the posts in this thread I feel a need to voice out.

I have tried lots of ecover creator software before and is quite adapt at making ecovers with Photoshop CS using action scripts. In my opinion, nothing comes even close to WGC in terms of flexibilty, control and quality. For the price, it's ultimate value for money.

As with any software or programs, it takes some time and effort to get used to it, regardless how user-friendly it may be. It's not entirely true that there isn't a manual, in fact you are reading it right now. This forum is like a manual that reacts, respond and answers you back, so far no manual has done that for me.
    :image31:

Lastly, I would like to thank all the great people that has allowed me to learn from them here. I have found a pandora's box with WGC, the possibilities are limitless (ecovers are not the only thing you can produce if you fiddle around with it enough). Those that don't own a copy of WGC has no idea what they are missing.

    Cheers
    Damian

    Hi Damian.

Thanks very much for your post ... and kind words about the software. I very much appreciated them.

If you happen to have a few web pages out there on the web that contain graphics created with The Web Graphics Creator - I'd love to see them!

    Keep posting Damian!

    Get Real

blazed8 was not yelling at you and he or she was not being unreasonable. This software without a manual is useless. It is nowhere close to being intuitive. I think all of your buyers should request a refund unless you provide them with some real help.

    Agreed DownloadDan.

Blazed8 (Claudia) and I have had a nice PM chat over this past week. She's pointed me to a professional who designs manuals for a living.

    I'm there. :D
