1. New Software Notice alert!

The new Web Graphics Creator (version 4.0) will be out soon.

For now, version 3.0 is still active and works great on most Windows machines. It no longer runs on Macs using Lion or greater... (but the new version will fix this)

So hang in there! It's almost done!

    Hi Everyone,

Ok here is the first tutorial on The eCover Creator using my templates.

I am sure there are mistakes etc, but everyone wanted it NOW! so go get it and I hope that it will help you get started creating your own eCovers and Software Boxes.

The tutorial is in the PDF file format.

I will be creating a better one later on...

    Here's my thoughts....

The tutorial consists of 12 pages
that guide you through the process of making a box.
    Easy AND powerful to use.

I'm reasonably experienced as a software user,
and found the logo program intuitive and wonderful.

The ecover generator is almost unusable as delivered
without a tutorial, (and G-D knows it could use a manual)
but HomeBiz has done a wonderful job
of showing us a basic job.

Thanks again H.... I put in an hour with your pdf
(I love stuff with screen shots! Bravo)

At least now I can do a few minimal tasks with
ECover program, and have enough of the basics
that I can teach myself the rest of the program.

A more complete tutorial would, of course be wonderful,
but what HomeBiz has done is a terriffic start.

    Thanks again, and again.

    Hi Everyone,

For the eBook tutorials I create them in Word then use Flashpaper 2 to export them to the PDF file format, I use word templates for the tutorials.

There is a problem with the word templates that outputs the text always in bold I am in touch with the designer now to get a fix. I will then update the Tutorial.

Did not want you all to think that I was Text Bold happy LOL!

    Thank you

    Hi Jim,

Thank you very much for your kind words, I just kind of though that tutorial together because all the users were asking for it.

Yes I had started a more advanced tutorial on The eCover Creator but I had put it a side to get this one out to the community to get them going. It's on the way don't worry.

    Enjoy

    Update Quick Start Tutorial

    Hi Everyone,

Ok, got the new word templates so I re-wrote the tutorial with the new word templates. The text is very easy to read now and I have also included a html file and the Flash version of the tutorial.

The templates aren't included with the Mac download. (I didn't even know they existed until I saw this thread.) You may wanna fix that.

    Hi jaentrp,

Sorry about this but the tutorial and templates were made for a PC, I do not have a Mac.

The templates are downloadable from within the tutorial in zip format they use the standard eCover Creator naming conventions.

The tutorial should work on your Mac but I am not sure about the templates, but all that you need to do is create them using the right sizes which were listed in this forum.

If anyone wants to create the templates for the Mac I will tell you the information that you will need to create them and how I did it.

    Enjoy

    Hi Homebiz,
    Thanks for your info above.
I just got the software a couple of days ago, and browsed whatever there was on the website etc.
I note your tutorial was done before august 2005, ie., about 2 years ago. Since then the software has changed etc. Is there any updated manual since then. would appreciate anyone pointing me in the right direction. Many thanks
    James
