when i load a logo while it renders windows chokes and i see this when i did debug. AppName : the logo creatpr v36.exe Appver: 3.6.0.0. ModName L dirapi.dll mod ver: 10.0.0.210 offset: 000x3360 any ideas?
I am also seeing this. As soon as you click a logo the "Rendering" message appears and then LC crashes. Solution?
Same Problem I have the same problem. I'm using windows xp Professional, and any time I try to load a LOGO I get rendering and then it crashes and gives me the report error to microsoft. I tried reporting the error and it said something about Macromedia Flash. I then uninstalled Flash and still got the same problem. I reinstalled flash and still no solution.
For XP users. 1) make sure you have the latest DX and Windows Media Player. 2) Install The Logo Creator into a new folder... but after make it v3.6.as a fresh install. 3) Then after the fresh install... open the 3.5 program files and find Logo Libraries .... after selecting all.. move the "Logo Libraries" folder from you older v3.5 to the newer v3.6 folder.Now use the new TLC icon to launch and not the old one. In.fact just send the old icon to the recycle bin.
Katie, your instructions worked great. I believe the tutorial will greatly help new users. Wow, nice upgrade all around, it even seems to load faster! :35: :35: :35:
That sorted the problem, but wouldn't it be nice if the upgrade did just that - without a load of manual intervention.
mandarin, you are absolutely right it would be nice if everything out of the box was perfect. Realistically some problems are unavoidable like conflicts, or wrong settings of computer monitors . I am still trying to sort out the reason why what I have my monitor set at for the number of colors should have any bearing on any program that I run is.All I know is after 25 years my computer still has training wheels.
I had this problem as well and the instructions given worked perfectly. Computers are quirky little things aren't they?

Hi Mandrin. Thanks for posting. Yes, the v3.6 demo SHOULD have done everything correctly, but the installer failed to update one small component in the "xtras" folder. This small component was what was creating the problems. i noticed my valuepack setup seems to include a version fo tlc and i am thinking why it messed it up but i am gonna try this new one over the old.
that newer updater that Marc posted solved the problems I was having with the install over older version. hopefully it will solve yours as well. there are still a few bugs in that version but they are not critical and should not prevent you from hopefully opening up and gettin' busy making logos.
