Posted by Marc Sylvester on Jul 31, 2010 in Uncategorized | Comments Off
In the internet savvy world, every next person is addicted to internet anyhow. Every profession requires web presence, without which no business can flourish. A website works as a service provider to the internet users, available 24 hours a day for the whole week. It provides all the details and relevant information about the company, its products and services. Getting a website designed for your company is not a difficult task; there are n number of designers and designing agencies available in the market to provide you the best services in the market.
The website for a company should have a good look and feel to attract the visitors of the website and also to convert them into potential customers. A website acts as a salesman, it bring new customers and business to you, if it looks professional and attractive. The website represents the image of the business and the quality of the services the company provides. An attractive as well as sophisticated web design works wonders for the business in promoting the brand image and creditability. There are some of the innovative ways to make the website look professional. Firstly, excess use of animation distracts the customers to your website. Blinking text and excessive use of graphics are a strict no for websites specially created for promoting the business. A website design should be clean and its focus should be to serve the visitors for what they are looking for.
Secondly, pop-ups should not be there, as they irritates the customer, and blows away the purpose of the website. They are not useful and functional at all for the website. A good website design convinces the customer to makes the purchases rather than distracting and irritating them. Thirdly, the website should not have any background image; it gives wrong signal to the customers. A professional website design should have plain background; otherwise it gives bad impression in the mind of the visitors. Last but not the least; the website should be well organized and categorized so that the visitors do not face any difficulty in finding what they are looking for. The visitors are going to leave your website, if they will find that they need to click many times to find the relevant information. It makes the visitors to mark the page as a bad quality web design, which will not be recognized by the search engine robots, do not tempt visitors, and do not solve the main purpose of the website.

The vital importance of effective web design is becoming clear to businesses which are competing for customers online. These days more and more business people are realizing that web design and online marketing are worth investing in.
website, be it personal or for business goal, must look professional visually. The primary goal of a web design is to cater to the visitors’ demand and expectation. To do this, you must have an effective web design. You can’t promote your website with poor design. With poor design implementation and errors of web design such as poor load time, poor overall appearance, poor content, poor navigation, poor browser compatibility, overuse of distracting elements and no Meta tags, you could not only kill the interest of your visitors or destroy your business but also kill the ethical standards of basic web design.
One of the most important aspects of website design is navigation as this determines not only how easily users will be able to reach different parts of your site, but how search engines index your site for search results. The second aspect needs to be considered is sound and music. Embedded sound or music can drastically change the way someone sees a website. Thirdly, if a font is too difficult to read, people will not stick around to look at the information you are trying to share with them. There are many other factors that need to be considered while creating a website design.
In this tech savvy world, you require expertise and pragmatism in web design, graphics, search engine optimization and content as well. Ideas For Interior Design
Posted by Michael James on Jul 31, 2010 in Design tips | Comments Off
Redecorating your house really isn’t that simple and it only gets even less so when you are stuck for ideas. The only real way to get over this shortage of interior design ideas, is to sit down, put your feet up and have some tea or coffee.
I’m not joking, there’s no better way of getting a fresh perspective on things than taking a break from what you are doing. In the first place, you become more relaxed, and in the second place a steaming cup of tea or coffee is always welcome.
Now that you’re sitting down comfortably and are suitably relaxed, close your eyes and envision the room that you want to do up. Even if you are redecorate more than one room, it’s always a good idea to begin with one room first, working your way logically through to the next one and then the next one.
Before you begin your travel through the land of interior design ideas, get yourself a notebook and pen so that you can jot down any inspirational ideas you have before they are forgotten
So, simply lie back and imagine the room in your mind. Try to see it as you want it to look. And if that’s too difficult, first try to replace separate parts of your room or articles in it. This is always a good method of working. But, if you’ve still got a mental drought on interior design ideas, leaf through some interior design catalogues beforehand so that you have at least some basic ideas of what you can do to change the room.
The interior design catalogues need not be anything more impressive than your free local department store catalogue, turned to the home furnishing section. Then again, nowadays you also get specialist shops which deal only with redecorating. If you have the time, a quick trip down to one of these might also help to end the lack of interior design ideas, and will probably get you started again.
These stores will have decorated sets of many designs, giving you a good idea of what your room could look like if you bought those materials. However, if you’re going to go to one of those shops, expect to shell out a bit of cash, as no matter how hard you try to keep a tight hand on your wallet, you’ll always find something you want to buy.
This is not necessarily a bad thing to do, but unless you watch out you could end up buying things you don’t need. And without a proper idea of what you want the room to look like, this can turn out disastrous. Not to worry though, if you keep your goal in mind, you can go back home and make a start on redecorating your rooms the way you like.
Furthermore, now that you’ve been able to get a few interior design ideas of what you want your rooms to look like, your whole redecorating project ought to be that much easier and that much more enjoyable too.

What Is A Rose Trying To Tell You?
Posted by Owen Jones on Jul 31, 2010 in Design tips | Comments Off
More roses are sold in the few days before St. Valentine’s Day than in any other comparable period in the year. Until not so long ago, people were aware of the significance of the colours of roses (I am pretty sure that it did not apply to other flowers too).
For example, it would have been a serious faux pas to give a young teenage girl a red rose, but not a pink or a yellow one. All the colours had a significance. However, it is a bit like reading Tarot cards, not everyone agrees on those significances.
Anyway, out of interest and to keep the tradition going, I will give you the commonly accepted meanings of the colours of roses hereunder.
‘My love is like a red, red rose’, so goes the poem and when most people think of a rose, the first colour that probably comes to mind is red and, in fact, the word ?rose? comes from the Latin word ?rosa?, which means red.
It is also true that red roses are the most widespread and the most bought colour, but there are so many other colours that there is an entire lexicon of meanings that can be expressed with them.
Here are some colours and their implication:
Red – Love, romance, attraction, obsession, yearning and respect
Burgundy – Unwitting loveliness
Red but withered – Our love is over
White – Wholesomeness, youth, pure love and virginal innocence
Pink – Happiness, admiration, gratitude and grace
Dark Pink – Gratitude or thank you
Yellow – Joy, gladness, companionship, delight or platonic love
Yellow with Red Tip – Falling in Love
Orange – Fascination, desire, or enthusiasm
Red and White – (a bouquet of roses of two colours) – Ardent purity or unity
Peach – Sincerity, gratitude, indebtedness, modesty, admiration, or sympathy
Lavender – Love at first sight or enchantment
Black – Death or our love is over
Blue – Unfeasible, unachievable or secrecy
Red Rosebud – Sign of purity and beauty
White Rosebud – Girlhood or youth
Thornless Rose – “Love at First Sight”
Single Rose – Straightforwardness
Two Roses – An engagement or impending marriage
Rose Leaves – Sign of hope
Roses – Sent every month – loveliness ever renewed
Regrettably, there no true black or blue roses in nature, as the pigment structures in the rose do not permit these colours to be developed, although it has not prevented gardeners trying for hundreds of years. However, there are some very dark purple roses, which are used in place of black roses. There are also some very pale lavender roses that seem to be blue, but have a shade of pink in them. Traditionally, blue roses are usually white roses dyed.
No matter what you want to express with your flowers, a bouquet of roses can articulate your emotions. So next time you give a bunch of roses, why not try to convey what you want to say by choosing the colours carefully. The recipient probably will not comprehend these day, but you could send them a copy of this article or have fun explaining the meaning to them over a bottle of wine.
